The end of the First Asignment

Expedition

After the incident that cost one of their wagons a wheel, Roderic collected the remains of the broken wheel, finding that he was missing several spokes, and one outer segment even after examining Aethelweald's spares, and getting the repaired iron rim back on the wheel once repaired was going to require a large fire.

To that end, Auron decided to attempt to use his magic to knock over a nearby tree.... unfortunately the tree's residents took offence to this and the party were attacked by an entire colony of bees!

After a tough combat, and nearly losing both Auron and Leutgar, the party barely managed to defeat the fierce foe, and as a reward were able to harvest the hive's golden honey.

Having manage to retrieve the horses, assorted merchants and crafters, and the wagon-master from where they had fled in the battle, eventually the party was able to settle down for the night, with Roderick spending his time working to repair the wagon wheel while the others took turns to watch.

The next day, the party where able to get a late start back on the road, and push through to arrive back in Bethencourt near 10 PM that night.

After some negotiations to find sleeping space in the over-crowded inn, and with the solicitous Edwen (and after Auron returned from his mysterious errand) the party finally managed to get some sleep, though Auron and Leutgar still endured the discomfort of their “wounds”.

In the morning, the sounds of festival revelry were too much for some to sleep through, and thus Leutgar and Auron went out to scout what was on offer before the others woke (or in Aster's case arrived from his sleep in the woods).
