House Allery

Once a minor noble house in Yathra Silthame, House Allery came to Drumis to build a kingdom of its own, freed from the long history and heavy traditions of the Silver City. Though their early decades were difficult---in no small part due to their now-ally House Llyran's aggression---House Allery has forged itself into a powerful territory of agriculture, trade, and industry. Under Lord Polarn Allery, this House busies itself with politics and schemes, seeking to grow their influence through soft power. And, of course, House Allery founded Alleriath with House Llyran through the signing of the Pact of Twin Blood in 513 AR.

Roots in The Iotruyla River Basin

House Allery was founded in Yathra Silthame. They built their powerbase from owning many farms and controlling a not-insignificant share of the agrarian productions of Yathra Silthame's territories. It was with this monetary might that House Allery hired a handful of renowned Griffonknights to found an in-House Griffon Order. And, while House Allery appreciated this position of middling power and authority in Yathra Silthame, the Heliestheos Crisis---and War of the Greatwyrms that followed---was a system shock, as it was for the whole world.   Allery lost much in these catastrophes. Many of their farms were decimated in the fighting, their manor was destroyed during Vyllath's occupation of Yathra SIlthame, and many of their Griffonknights fell. In the wake of Yathra Silthame's liberation, the leaders of Allery chose to commit themselves to reconstruction and recovery. They stuck to this for decades until Yathra Silthame entered into an era of civil conflict and strife in the latter half of the fifth century AR. Instead of potentially losing everything Allery had fought to regain, they chose to leave and start anew. Thus, House Allery sold off their holdings and uprooted their nobles, servants, and Griffon Order and took them all to Drumis. There, they settled Allerdeen, which has been their seat of power ever since.   House Allery is, in many ways, still Yathra Silthaman in temperament, preferring stability and long-term growth over ambition and rapid change. And, since the leaders who moved House Allery to Drumis lived through the War of the Greatwyrms and the strife that followed, many were eager to build a kingdom that would, for the most part, not have to experience strife and times of tumult. A utopian dream, to be sure, but one that the first set of Drumian Allerians held to and, aside from a growing desire to take Heedthren from Obrasea, most of Allery still believes.

Founding Alleriath

When Allery first settled in Drumis, they discovered House Llyran to be unwelcoming and aggressive. The Camaerithians had settled just to the northwest of Allerdeen several decades prior, and were thus unenthused by new neighbors taking the massive tracts of arable land along the Lunancaster River. Llyran and Allery butted heads in brutal skirmishes several times for a decade, until House Llyran abruptly pulled back and left them well enough alone. Allery grew and stabilized, and in 510 AR, Llyran struck hard and fast. This full-scale assault sparked a three-year conflict now known as the War of Twin Fury.   Allery narrowly survived Llyran's assaults, managing to beat back their Swordmasters and elite land forces only through a tactical use of Allery's growing Griffon Order. Eventually, Llyran and Allery grew a bitter respect for one another. They knew the war was going nowhere fast, and so made a bold move in the opposite direction: join forces and found a kingdom together, merging their strengths to cover their weaknesses.   In 513 AR, the War of Twin Fury ended with the signing of the Pact of Twin Blood. Alleriath was founded, and the rest is history.

By sickle and hammer, we make this lands ours.

Tested Restraint

Unlike House Llyran, House Allery has few ambitions to expand and conquer. They want Heedthren from Obrasea and little else. They came from strife and tumult, and thus desire little of the sort. This restraint is tested often by House Llyran's constant desire to settle the Cradle of the Lost and, eventually, pursue a war with Kingdom Mourn.   Allery puts up with these ambitions because Llyran is their equal. But, should House Llyran's schemes and plans grow too great, who knows if Allery will be able to hold them back---or keep up along the way?
