Soul Spire

Soul spires are ancient towers built by the fallen civilization Malador and are built of their titular material, maladorite. Common folk belive the towers are cursed or haunted, with many credible rumors of hearing ghostly voices from the tower at night.

The towers are believed to be ritualistic implements, part of a grand weaving that continues to seal away the power of the Kyate'i Ashodiyai.

Spire Wardens

Each spire has a warden, the most recentperson to climb to the top of the spire. Wardens are granted a special domain by the Kyate'i Ashtimnai, usually the Last Word. This special domain can supercede the normal limit of three domains for a channeler and contains significantly powerful abilities, enabling the Spire Warden to become a truly fearsome warrior. Should another person climb to the top, the existing warden has their domain removed and title revoked for their failure, both being given to the new ascendant climber. Many organizations prepare and attempt to climb the towers, legally or not.

Spire Wardens are important to governance in Kyawas, they role being recognized by the government as a divinely ordained position that makes them immune to all law and judgement, akin to the titles of Devmahar or Zemahar. Spire Wardens rarely leave the areas around the tower the guard but are usually active in the local political scene. Spire Wardens are required to protect their spire from harm and ensure that ascending the tower to claim its prize will be a sufficient trial for the next warden.

Ascending the Spire

The inside of the spire is subject to all sorts of rumors, few people are ever even allowed in and even fewer are capable of leaving again with their lives or minds intact. It is said that each floor of the tower is a trial, from monsters to traps and puzzles.

There are 12 known spires across the continent. Each one has received a title based on the apperance of the tower, as each one looks different, or some famous story about the tower. The following is the list of each tower.
