Celna
Overview
Celna is the largest settlement and administrative capital of the Duchy of Drymoor. Nestled along the banks of a small tributary west of the Sandy River, the town occupies a strategic position at the intersection of several regional trade roads. Though modest in size compared to the great cities of Valemont, Celna serves as the political, economic, and cultural heart of the duchy, drawing merchants, travelers, and laborers from across the surrounding countryside.
The town was founded in a location that offered both opportunity and security. Fertile farmland surrounds much of Celna, providing a steady source of food and trade goods, while its distance from the Sandy River protects it from many of the dangers associated with the eastern frontier. Over time, its position between the duchy's agricultural communities and the major trade routes of the region allowed the settlement to grow into a thriving market town and center of local governance.
Today, Celna is home to the ducal seat of House Cellars and serves as the primary hub of commerce within Drymoor. Farmers arrive daily to sell their harvests, merchants negotiate contracts in its markets, and travelers often stop within its walls before continuing deeper into Valemont or toward the frontier lands beyond. While the town lacks the grandeur and population of Valemont's great cities, its people take pride in their resilience, industry, and the vital role Celna plays in the prosperity of the duchy.
