Hell

The Nine Hells, sometimes shortened to Hell, is the home of the devils. It is a plane of sinister wickedness and institutional cruelty, its denizens organized into a strict caste system with a very rigid chain of command. Each of the nine Hells has its own physical laws or properties of matter, and all are inhospitable or deadly to outsiders. Souls tainted by corruption and evil often find their way to Hell in death, as the plane is the embodiment of lawful evil.

Geography

The nine layers of Hell are stacked on top of one another. Each layer is connected by the River of Blood, Styx.

• The first layer of Hell, Gehenna. Ruled by the Archduchess, Zariel.
• The second layer of Hell, Dis. Ruled by the Archduke, Dispater
• The third layer of Hell, Minauros. Ruled by the Archduke, Mammon.
• The fourth layer of Hell, Phlegethos. Ruled by the Archduke, Bael.
• The fifth layer of Hell, Stygia. Ruled by the Archduke, Levistus.
• The sixth layer of Hell, Malbolge. Ruled by the Archduchess, Glasya.
• The seventh layer of Hell, Maladomini. Ruled by the Archduke, Beelzebub.
• The eight layer of Hell, Cania. Ruled by the Archduchess, Fierna 
• The ninth layer of Hell, Nessus. Ruled by the Archduke, Mephistopheles.
