Cambion

Cambions are humans with fiendish qualities and characteristics, most often descended from demons and devils who have bred with humans. Although their fiendish ancestors could be many generations removed, the taint still lingers.   While Cambions were originally the resulting offspring of a union between a demon or devil and a human, such unions are fairly rare. Most cambions are born to humans who have some fiendish blood in their ancestry, as opposed to a direct union with a fiend.    Cambions who have strikingly inhuman features are often killed at birth by their horrified parents or others. Only those cambions with subtle features or born to someone indifferent to their appearance, either out of acceptance or cruel purpose, are likely to reach adulthood.

Physical Characteristics

Cambions have large horns that take any of a variety of shapes - some have curling horns like a ram, others have straight and tall horns like a gazelle's, and some spiral upward like an antelopes' horns. They have thick tails, three to five feet long, which lash or coil around their legs when they get upset or nervous. Their eyes often give off a faint glow, with iris colors atypical for humans such as pink, red, white, silver, or gold. Their skin tones cover the full range of human coloration, but also include various shades of red. Their hair, cascading down from behind their horns, is usually dark, from black or brown to dark red, blue, or purple.

Homelands

Lacking a homeland, cambions subsist in small minorities found mostly in human cities or towns, often in the roughest quarters of those places, where they grow up to be swindlers, thieves or crime lords. Sometimes they live among other minority populations in enclaves where they are treated with more respect.

Religion

Unlike the other dominant humanoid species, humans do not have a chief racial deity. Some humans are the most ardent and zealous adherents of a given religion, while others are the most impious people around.

Names

Humans have no typical naming conventions, and names vary greatly. Many parents give names that are linked to their region's culture, or draw inspiration from the naming traditions of their ancestors. Some humans simply give their children names that sound appealing, choosing words from other languages such as Dwarvish or Elvish.  

Playing a Cambion

As a cambion, you have the following traits:   Size. Your size is Medium.   Speed. You have a base walking speed of 30 feet.   Darkvision. Thanks to your fiendish heritage, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.   Otherworldly Presence.
