Starport

Starport is the most densely populated and technologically advanced part of Eltar. Consisting of two separate halves, one on the north pole, the other on the south, the two are connected through a series of elevators running through the core of the planet. Starport is the only area where advanced technology is permitted freely outside of a small list of select contraband, and is the major trade hub for external planets following the collapse of the aetherchasm network. Starport's segmented design also serves as a relay for the environmental separators - the small, 10 metre long scarlet energy waves that can be seen from space responsible for separating the composition of the air and stabilising it as necessary for those passing through it so individuals won't have issues breathing in completely different chemicals.   Because of how built up and populated Starport is and with it having access to a lot of tech that couldn't be found elsewhere on the planet, it quickly grew a reputation of being the place to go to do anything you wanted, free from the restrictions enacted on the rest of the planet. Between the visitors from the main continents hoping to experience something new and different, the travelling merchants hoping to make some profitable trade and the hopeful immigrants and emigrants created a rather unique cultural melting pot and ecosystem.    This mix and somewhat rowdy attitude in conjunction with everything else makes Starport feel like an entirely different place from the rest of Eltar, even given the already noticeable differences between each patchwork continent. Given Starport is viewed by the gods with a level of revulsion and reluctant acceptance on the whole, but recognised as a necessary evil to maintain their relationships with other planets and people, there's little reason for them to take action to change that perception either.
