The Oak Gate

The Oak Gate is the only entrance into (or exit out of) the Bandit Lands. The Oak Gate is not actually a gate; rather, it is a large oak tree that marks a somewhat central point in the Gnarled Wall which segregates the Bandit Lands from Phesunlay. The Oak Gate, such as it is, opens via the magic wielded by Wallshapers, druids who are able to force the tree (temporarily) to split into two at the base and shift to open a tunnel-like passageway through the base of the tree into the Bandit Lands.   The tree itself has a trunk that is nearly 20 metres in diameter and the tree is around 100m tall. The other trees and plants in the Gnarled Wall grow into and out of the large oak tree, with branches from the oak tree itself also spanning far into the Gnarled Wall on either side. The tree is a light to medium brown colour, with typical oak bark, though the leaves give of a light blue blow under intense moonlight or when they have been thoroughly soaked by rain.   The Oak Gate, and the oak tree itself, were planted and created by the Wallshapers who created the entire Gnarled Wall when the Bandit Lands were created at the end of the Great Borean Wall and after the founding of the Kentasorte. Since then, new Wallshapers have taken up residence along the Gnarled Wall in homes grown on the outside of the Bandit Lands.   The Oak Gate has never been opened from the inside of the Bandit Lands, though many suppose that a Wallshaper would be able to open it from either side.
