Guild of Retainence
Cornflower Burrow political party which advocated for free trade, monarchist reforms, and isolationism. Originally known as the Flower Nobility Party, it rebranded itself in 1089 after a split in the party over ethics grew. The party advocated for the expansion of rights over landowners, businesses, farmers and independent merchants all within the upper and lower classes of the Cornflower Burrow. It had a strong base within the Eastend district where it was based, and it was dominant for most of the political landscape of the 1090's to 1110's. The party eventually faced allegations of corruption and favouritism in the early 1120's and was exposed for aiding hostile foreign nations in exchange for wealth in 1123 during Correl v. Jun v. Cornflower. It was eventually dissolved shortly before the events of the 1170's when the Catarish occupation forcefully dissolved independent political entities within every burrow.
Public Agenda
- Expand the rights of landowners.
- Further the interests of the merchant-class.
- Reform monarchist elements of the government.
- Culturally shift towards a more conservative society.
- Expand trade routes with foreign countries.
Disbandment
During 1168, just two years before the annexation of Cornflower Burrow under Catarish rule, the Guild dissolved itself after a lack of members and dwindling public support saw there interests better in reforming at a later date under the guise of a more monarchy-friendly conservative guild. These plans never came to fruition, however some elements made itself into the People's Merchantcy Party later on.
