Nethys Character in Legends of Elohey | World Anvil

Nethys

(a.k.a. The Storm Titan)

An imposing figure, Nethys is often considered the first among the Lost Sea Titans. Some records indicate he may be their leader.

Nethys is often depicted with deep blue-green skin, wavy - if not curled - light gray-blue hair and beard that almost ends in fog. His physique is that of a wrestler, highly muscled but lean. In most depictions, Nethys is shown to be wrestling or standing in dominance over a beast or an elemental creature. Always, in all depictions, his deep ice-blue eyes crackle endlessly with lightning. Nethys is often shown dressed either in a sailor's linen shirt and trousers with gleaming scaled armor. When he isn't shown wrestling, he is using a trident either made of lightning or embossed with lightning.

Tenets of Faith

  • Be Brave. The heart of the storm is bravery. The storm cleanses yet provides balance.
  • Strength in all things, for a storm's great strength the path to greatness. But great is also the responsible use of that strength.
  • To vanquish adversity, to survive, to endure, through those your glory becomes the glory of the Storm Titan.

  • Holidays

The Storm Titan's main holiday is the Day of Adversity, also known as the Stormcall.

The Stormcall is celebrated twice a year on the Spring Equinox and the Summer Solstice. On these days, the faithful gather in the Titan's shell decorated temples to wrestle for the honor of competing in the Heaven's Cyclone, or the arena match between the favored champions of all of the Titans of the Lost Seas which takes place at exactly noon on the Autumnal Equinox in the Titan's Hall on Shellback Island. The Day of Adversity is a rambunctious, raucous holiday with followers either competing or cheering on their favorite contender.
