Session 1 - Introduction
General Summary
At our 21st. Everyone enjoying themselves at a part outside, Raila Salmi Jonne Salmi Ella Haerm and Joth Haerm invite the six of you in. Told you were raised as their own children but arrived 20 years ago in the company of two women.
Aenwyn Thenan was incredibly sick and dies 10 days later. Sirenna Caryn was also one that brought us. The next day she was gone. She told Duri she was seeking someone and she headed to Calatan. Jonne went there and didn't find anything. Aenwyn struggled with a fever, wanted to hear about the children and asked for Sirenna. While she strengthened a little she asked for parchment, sealed it until age 21. She died 2 days later, peacefully, buried in the Bay of Stones . Have heard nothing abouit Sirenna. Raila Salmi hands you a small piece of folder leather with a leather lace. One item is Aenwyn's Letter sealed with wax and the other is an Engraved Brass Coin . Ecaeris is written on the outside of the letter.
Aenwyn and Sirenna were both in 20s, brunette hair, dark eyes. Clothing wasn't special.
Letter is written in runic script last line might be a signature. Baka thinks this is some form of Dwarvish.
Duri says he can see why we might think it is dwarvish but not in its current form.. We head to Simon Vipund . He doesn't recognise the name and he is seeming a bit disappointed that we've opened it. He is intrigued. Digby gets the impression that Simon is really quite excited but trying to hide it. Simon admits he's not seen anything written in this alphabet ever before apart from one text in the Great Library of Sunom . Digby is not sure if Simon is being entirely honest. Simon admits he stole a book from the library. It was written in 2 languages he hadn't seen before, one was runic form similar to the letter, about a millennia old. He shares the current dwarven alphabet and their is an ancient dwarvish root. He thinks we may be able to work something out. He wants to make a copy and we let him.
We ask Simon about the brass coin. He doesn't recognise it. The pattern on the reverse is different depending on which orientation you hold it in. We show Duri the brass coin he thinks it was made in a mold of high quality.
Party has been to Fishtown a few times and knows the layout but has only been to Calatan once.
