The Twelve Kingdoms of Ellahim

Written by Earven
At the dawn of time, twelve beings created the planet of Ellahim, each one using a different kind of magic to shape part of it. Then, they directed the people of Ellahim to form twelve kingdoms around the sources of magic from which the world was created. These Ellahii believed the twelve kings that founded their kingdoms to have simply been twelve extraordinary Ellahii when they died like regular mortals.
Named after their founders, the twelve kingdoms became:
  1. Lojhim, kingdom of the Lojii, founded by Lojo, shaped by light magic, a land of eternal summer.
  1. Savhim, kingdom of the Savii, founded by Sava, shaped by dark magic, a land of eternal winter.
  1. Mikhim, kingdom of the Mikii, founded by Miki, shaped by water magic, built on the many islands in the world's only ocean.
  1. Naghim, kingdom of the Nagii, founded by Naga, shaped by thought magic, home to a library of all the world's knowledge.
  1. Jothim, kingdom of the Jotii, founded by Joto, shaped by earth magic, a lifeless landscape of deserts and mountains.
  1. Ferhim, kingdom of the Ferii, founded by Fere, shaped by fire magic, built around a volcano.
  1. Nilhim, kingdom of the Nilii, founded by Nili, shaped by wind magic, built on floating mountains.
  1. Vihim, kingdom of the Vi'ii, founded by Vi'i, shaped by void magic, a harsh, cold place said to drive people insane.
  • Rekhim, kingdom of the Rekii, founded by Reke, shaped by blood magic, populated by dangerous animals.
  1. Deshim, kingdom of the Desii, founded by Dese, shaped by wood magic, built on a sprawling landscape of fields and forests.
  1. Arhim, kingdom of the Arii, founded by Ara, shaped by steel magic, a land of caves, mines and precious metals.
  1. Torhim, kingdom of the Torii, founded by Toro, shaped by storm magic, an isolationist city built inside a neverending storm.

Twenty thousand years later, a group of Toro scientists make a world-changing discovery: The twelve kings are alive, and they have been influencing the Ellahii all along, preventing any one kingdom from becoming too strong. But, although they lived for thousands of years, they can be killed.
