Sky Dish

A plate-like Machine used by the Lurder Komm to transfer letters across the world to other sky dishes instantanous.
As with most machines of the Remainders we do not know how they work, but some details have been observed. Each one must be directed into very specific directions and even small deviations from that direction will make them fail to work. Also you need the blessing of the Sysadmin to operate it, even as a Remainder.
There are rumors, that the Remainders can transfer and receive a lot more through these dishes than just letters. Those claims go from more realistic, like detailed maps, to things that are possible to the gods, like visions of other places or talking face to face over vast distance, to ludicrious claims, like hearing music sung before the Exodus.

Social Impact

Since the Lurder Komm charges really low prices for sending messages across the world, the amount of information send has increased enormously and literacy has increased along with it. The speed in which important events are known around the world has increased.
The queens use it to send their orders and decrees to their gouverneurs, merchants prepare trade deals and meetings, the mayors announce festivities to the neighboring communites, but also friends that live apart share their ideas, daily events and rumors.
The job of the carrier has almost completely vanished. Just in region in which the Lurder Komm is absent or for really secret or personel messages there are still a few jobs available.
