The Order of Erdantia Operation 001. "Westbane"

The Order of Erdantia Operation 001, codenamed Westbane, was the first mission to ever be launched by the Order of Erdantia. It was a strike-and-fade attack on a rogue militia in the west of the Kingdom of Erdantia, just south of the town of Kakiobre.

The Conflict

Prelude

The Faereburg Militia was a small mercenary group active in the west of Erdantia, close to the Erdantia-Atlin border and just south of Kakiobre. Recently, it had been aggressive towards settlements in Erdantia, specifically Kakiobre. It is believed that they were paid to do this by the Duchy of Atlin. This issue was selected to be the target of the newly-formed Order of Erdantia's first operation. Five operatives were sent, including the Order's Overseer, Ezekial Evans.

Deployment

There were a total of five operatives deployed in Westbane, meaning that the majority of the eight founders were sent. These five are as follow:

1. Ezekial Evans, Overseer of the Order, mission leader, and mission Warden.
2. Allison Lovac, contingency officer and reserve mission leader. Edward Hurst, gunpowder specialist.
3. Brooklyn Ackermane, logistics support
4. Oswald Hooker, ranged support
They went by boat from Renn westwards to the city of Orn, which sat on the westward ocean. They then travelled by horseback to the town of Kakiobre, using it for accommodation, then went south to the castle.

The Engagement

The timeline of the attack is as follows:

• 04:29 - Operatives arrive
• 04:38 - Sentry is killed, operatives gain access to the castle.
• 04:41 - Operatives split into two teams. Ezekial Evans and Arthur Hurst will move to the base of the keep, setting alight its walls. Allison Lovac, Brooklyn Ackermane, and Oswald Hooker will damage the gate enough for it to be forced shut.
• 04:52 - The keep is broken into. Five guardsmen are killed by the combined efforts of Hurst and Evans. The keep is set alight.
• 04:58 - The chains to the gate are cut. A squad of guards aprehend Hurst and Evans. Seven of the nine are killed, but Hurst sustains injuries. They flee over the wall as he keep burns down
05:02 - All five operatives mount horses and return to Kakiobre.

Outcome

Operatives emerged victorious, Rogue militia shut down.

Historical Significance

Legacy

Westbane was special in that it defined what the Order of Erdantia could be. It proved the effectiveness of a stealth-based group for Erdantia's military. This resulted in King Ulric Tyler granting increased funding to the Order. Without the success of Westbane, the Order would not be active today.
