The Battle of Orian

The Battle of Orian was a military conflict that took place on the Month of Edreni, 1589 where a group of Kirinan soldiers launched an unprovoked assualt on the port town of Orian, Emmerion.

The Conflict

Deployment

Kirinan soldiers arrived by ship and were deployed on the beach next to the town. They moved quickly, reaching the town within 20 minutes.

The Engagement

Defenders fighting in the battle often commented afterwards about the unrelenting nature of the attackers, who did not relent even after defeat was inevitable. They fought in a way that was chillingly selfless, but poorly coordinated, resulting in a crushing defeat for Kirine, but with high casualties on both sides.

Outcome

After the battle, Emmerion immediately declared war on Kirine (treating it as a single nation, not aware of its existence as a group of independent states). Within two months, it had prepared an invading force and began sweeping through Kirine with relentless brutality.

Aftermath

The resulting retaliations against Kirine resulted in the rest of Jheoh, and ultimately almost all remaining neutral nations in Elemaran (due to a network of alliances and tensions in the Atloan Ocean, joining the War of Eserae.

"They said they were from Kirine. Don't believe it. Up close, I can tell those things weren't human. They were fake. What's more, the way they were fighting, it wasn't an effective strategy. It was more shock tactics, something that wasn't effective in the situation. I wonder what's up with that?"
