Wyvern

The Wyvern is a subspecies of dragon that is driven by greed and disdain for anything that is smaller than them. Wyverns are split into many variations, but all have the same attitude driven by arrogance and malice. Despite this, wyverns are sentient, but not sapient. They are to dragons as apes are to humans - similar, but not the same or related.
Wyverns love to terrorize farms and small towns in search of food in the form of livestock or people. They also love to hoard gold and other precious metals, and are even reckless enough to try and steal from the hoards of dragons.
It's considered a mighty achievement to defeat one of these beasts, and one who does often is awarded with an epithet along the lines of "Wingcutter" or "Wyvernsbane".

Length: 40 – 60 ft.

Height: 9 – 14 ft.

Subtypes:

• Shale – named for the colour and shape of its scales.
• Feathered – comes in a variety of earthy tones and sports feathers on its wings and tail.
• Sand – smooth-scaled individuals that can be found along the sea where there is sand and in the deserts.
• Forest – a smaller variant. Can be found in a variety of shades of green, which helps them blend into the foliage.
• Sea – a variant that spends most of its life in the waters of the ocean. It fights with Haitlik frequently.
