Prismatic Tortoise
The Prismatic Tortoise is a wonder to behold. At first glance, it appears to be a simple land turtle made of glass that can only be found in the deep caverns and crevices that now are only accessed by the dwarves. When light lands on a Prismatic Tortoise, the light is refracted into gorgeous rainbows of colour, as if the tortoise is a living prism.
For the longest time, the Prismatic Tortoise was unknown to all but the dwarven kingdoms that managed to dig deep enough. It wasn't until the aftermath of @The Battle of Unspoken Grief that the Prismatic Tortoise became known to the wider world.
When the terrible effects created by the end of The Battle of Unspoken Grief finally abated, those who hid underground left the caves they had lived in, and slowly they forgot about the caves.
And in the end, they forgot about the Prismatic Tortoise as well.
Basic Information
Ecology and Habitats
The Prismatic Tortoise can be found in the lush, verdant hot spring-heated caves that can be occasionally found beneath the mountains scattered across the world of Eldûra. The Prismatic Tortoise is known to keep the foliage in these caves in check, as these plants are its only food source. Thankfully, because the tortoises' metabolism is slow, their need to eat is also slow and infrequent, and thus their reproduction is also slow, so they are unable to overgraze.
