Thunder's Children

There is divinity in those storms which shatter your eardrums and make you flinch with fear. Those who call themselves Thunder's Children know this more than any other.   Operating out of a slaughterhouse labeled otherwise, Thunder's Children are skulking, quiet-eyed things in the dark. They are capable of announcing their presence with a mere fraction of the strength which the Mother of Storms carries in Her depths, but many of them are afraid to try and harness this strength, aware that to fail wielding it means destruction from within as their body screams itself apart.   Other groups-- other cults, which follow other Mothers-- are more tactful, or better fighters, or have better public images. Thunder's Children has faith in spades, which is what fuels their madness. Those who try to snoop on them are dragged to a deep blocked-off segment of their warehouse, never to be seen again. Power thrums in their veins, in their heartbeats. Each and every one of Thunder's Children knows what will be asked of them if the time comes. Only those with true dedication are promoted into the inner circle of Children.   Hawk oversees them all. Her rituals seem to bring storms and winds and lightning into the slaughterhouse; the followers lash themselves and sway and scream, because their noise is the sound of thunder, and they know She is pleased by the scent in the air-- deep and burning.

Divine Origins

Thunder's Children originated with Hawk, who was Blessed by the Mother Of Storms when gazing skyward and glancing upon a minute shard of Her countenance, shaped in the clouds. Hawk carried this memory with her for over a decade as she grew, and upon reaching her late twenties, Hawk awakened, becoming the Icon of Storms.   Her recruitment was quick and rough-handled. Those who seemed as if they needed some guidance and did not have safe places to hide were swept up in Hawk's glittering stormcrash.
