MOTHER OF STORMS Character in Eldritch Earth | World Anvil

MOTHER OF STORMS

In the storm, there is power.   Watch: the undulation of sea waves which send a viking ship to depths unknown. Hear: whimpers of fearful townsfolk while lightning flickers dangerously close to dry fields.   The Mother of Storms bears the power of gale and rain and lightning and thunder -- She is primal, a frenetic presence which desires triumph, conquest, loyalty. To serve Her well is to be rewarded with harvests which swell the larders. Her Icons are those which tremble with kinetic energy trapped in their skin, forever marked by that which cannot be properly expressed without rending the body apart. Her love is painful, at times, but Her love is true. Her followers do reap the rewards of serving one such as Her, and She does seem to take joy in the celebrations held in Her honor.   Like all wild storms at sea, though, She demands blood. Through her followers, She will have it.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

The Mother of Skulls desires very little that can be deciphered by those observing from outside. Her methodology is crass, brutal, filling the body with flickering sky-fire, pulsing spasms down flesh and tendon.

Social

Reign

The Mother of Storms has reigned in some form or other in a variety of communities over Her lifespan, unnatural and divine as it is. She has seen kings fall and usurpers choke on their own poisons. Her reign extends back as long as humanity has been cowering from thunderstrikes.

Mannerisms

Mother of Storms -- capricious, almost. Demanding. Those who are blessed by Her learn to watch the cloudshift for signs of Her displeasure. She manifests her fury in many ways: striking a home so that it burns, startling a follower awake after they displeased her, bringing down rain so harsh it tilts sideways in rough-wind gales.
