Personal history

The Wandering Minstrel is a character from many folk tales, inconsistent in sex, race, and appearance; changing from region to region. Their stories center on the Minstrel's travels and encounters on the road with bandits, beasts, fae, and supernatural beings with the moral of each story revolving around solving problems with cunning and words over brute force.   Agaland and Gyrminia:   The Wandering Minstrel was a young lord, heir to a noble family and afforded a comfortable life. In versions told by the upper classes, his family fell from grace through no fault of the heir, though sometimes from foolish family members. Versions told by the lower class have him voluntarily leaving his house to learn about non noble life or forced from it by the people his family wronged.   Elvalon:   Among the human settlements, the Minstrel takes the form of a half human, the other half being various types of Fae. The gender changes from story to story, suggesting the Wandering Minstrel passed from master to apprentice rather than a singular person. Among the fae, the Wanderer is portrayed as a young man born of a barbarian tribe who discovered the fae courts and began to learn from them, forsaking the violent nature of his people to live a peaceful life full of music and wonder.   Arvaria:   The Minstrel is born as a street rat among one of the larger cities or an outcast from the Fayus peoples, generally the Yuan-Ti. The gender is usually male and some form of disfigurement or excessive beauty is involved, forcing them to hide their face. Some have the Minstrel disguise as a woman.
