A death seer is granted the unique blessing, or curse, of reading the currents of spiritual energy flowing around the world. They see a darkness gather around a person or living thing that is near death. This darkness consists of curious spirits waiting for the death of someone or a loved one. The stronger the presence of spirits, the blacker the darkness that gathers. But fate is never set in stone and the course of time can be changed.
This sight is viewed as a curse due to the emotional burden placed on the person. Too strong of presences can also overwhelm a person and cause physical illness and seizures.
The unborn who are fated to die, but shown mercy by the twin gods of life and death are born with this ability. Since they cannot interfere as often as they would like, the ability is rare with only a handfull cropping up in a generation.
