Dracoknights (Dra-ko-nights)

The Dracoknights were formed once the first and last Dragon War was over. The great Dragons, Bahamut and Sardior, came together after defeating the evil Tiamat and plunging her tower into the depths of the ocean. The knights are made up of every militant race, but mainly consist of Orcs, Humans, Elves, and Dwarves. The armor they wear is ironwood harvested and forged by the Elven smiths that reside in the city of the same name, and normally wield a scimitar of Orcish make and a shield of precious minerals mined and prospected by the Dwarves. All their equipment is enchanted by the great Human mages, so that little harm can befall them. Part of the initiation process takes them to the far corner of the world, to Bahamut's Perch, and has them serve at a post there for six months. This prolonged exposure to the Perch allows them to be lightly telepathically connected to both Bahamut and Sardior, so the great Dragons can try to warn the Knights of any threats from Tiamat or her cult's remnant they may be aware of. The Dracoknights are a very elite force, one that you must be hand-picked to join. Because of this, their numbers are not great, but anytime one deems to join a conflict, they can quickly turn the tide whichever way they please. They all have the full backing of their respective race's council or leadership and can be known to cross lines that other people won't in order to make problems go away.
They typically travel alone, or at most in pairs, but can be known to recruit people to their cause when needed. Since they require little oversight, they can go out on a mission and not report to their superiors for weeks or months at a time. As of right now, there are only about ten known Dracoknights in the world, but some may appear that haven't been heard from in a long, long time.
Although all the knights are independent agents, they all fight for what they believe to be the greater good of the world. None of them have ever been of the opposing sides of the same battle.
