The Glorious Decree

Glorychaser. A name that strikes fear into the hearts of fiends and criminals and inspires honourable warriors. Starting after the death of Veler, hero of the common people during their arrival in Velaria, the Glorychaser family became well known in taking up his role as hero of their people. The first Glorychaser, Tren Glorychaser, was a mighty hero with little known about them specifically, but each child that was born into the family seemed to grow in fame and power. Most members of the Glorychaser family were born with an inner magic unique to their bloodline, and only in an extremely rare case would it not manifestt in a Glorychaser. This power seemed to grow with time and be passed on from parent to child, allowing the user to manifest powerful energy outside of their body in a humanoid/creature form unique to their personality. This power was near-indestructible, and when trained properly alongside all of the family knowledge collected throughout the years of fighting monsters, allowed the Glorychaser family line to overpower almost any foe that stood against them. Throughout the thousand years that made up the Era of Conflict, there was always a Glorychaser fighting the fiends and evil creatures trying to corrupt the land whilst the other nations were too busy fighting each other. This culminated in Jonathon Glorychaser, who set out to change the Era of Conflict. His fame and renown was so great that he brought all of the nations leaders together and got them, after a year of debate and agreements, to sign and agree on a unification. One of the prerequisites of the signing for the nations that were worried about being vulnerable during the Unite, was that Glorychaser would protect them all. He agreed, and signed a royal decree where he promised to always protect all of the nations of Velaria, and all of his descendants would do the same. This document is still preserved and followed by the Glorychaser family line centuries after its signing.
The signing of this document and pledging of the Glorychaser family was witnessed by all unified leaders of the time.

Purpose

The purpose of this document was to aid in the unification of all of the countries of Velaria during the Great Unite. Jonathon Glorychaser, hero of the Glorychaser lineage, was trying to establish a lasting peace between all of the peoples of this continent, and end the Era of Conflict. He offered this decree as an incentive for some of the groups that were hesitant on agreeing. This decree offered protection from forces of evil forever, as the Glorychaser family line would act as protectors of the realm and aid all nations that join the Great Unite equally.

The Glorious Decree references the signing of the Great Unite, as they were signed at the same time and the signing of that document was required before Jonathon Glorychaser would finalise the Glorious Decree.

Publication Status

The document is very publicly known, as one of the staples that helped push Velaria into a new era. It is only viewable within the city of Kinallen, which is the birthplace of the Glorychaser family line and likes to remind other cities that it is. It is contained within a encapsulating, sealed vault made of tough, yet clear diamond to allow visitors to view the document whilst keeping it protected.

Legacy

The legacy of the Glorychaser family line was already great, and was made greater by the creation of this Decree. It is a national treasure, especially within the original Kinallen city, where the old Kingdom of Amaron was based before it changed to a council-led country. The negative long-lasting repercussions of this document exist around the descendants of the Glorychaser family line. All of them are born and age with insurmountable expectations, that they will be able tot protect the populace against any threat. They are expected to be the very best warriors, spending there entire childhood training and learning everything possible. They are not only chained with expectations from the people around them due to their family name, and the supposed inner powers they are born with, but also with an official document witnessed by all countries in Velaria.

Term

Jonathon Glorychaser, the signee, was very specific in describing the duration of the Glorychaser family line's protection of Velaria as 'forever'.

The Glorious Decree

I, Jonathon Glorychaser hereby Decree that me and all of my descendants of the Glorychaser name will protect all the united nations of Velaria equally from threat. Failure to do so will mean the extinction of the Glorychaser family, or the failure of one of my descendants. I allow any punishment seen fit for any of the Glorychaser line that fail to uphold this Decree, and should be banished from the family.
