Kurvaldian Knights

The Kurvaldian Knights are a powerful group of 5 of the most loyal followers of Tiamat, evil Goddess of Dragons. They act as the Goddess's hand in all things, from commanding units on the battlefield, to enforcing law, and dealing with political issues. They were once powerful heroes that were fighting to protect Seven Cities from Tiamat , but after she offered them unimaginable power, they sold their souls to her and became her Knights. Each member of the Kurvaldian Knights ate a different portion of Tiamat's flesh pertaining to the different chromatic colours within her power. Each of these Knights gained immense power and prowess after feasting on her flesh, partially transforming into Half-Dragons with wings and a tail. They became more monstrous and cunning, losing some of their humanity in return.   The name 'Kurvaldian Knights' originates from the Old Draconic language prominent in the realm Kurvald Dehlaine and in remnants of the now-occupied Seven Cities. It translates to 'Dragon Knights' but also has the underlying association to the chromatic dragon types, as Kurvald represents chromatic, and Dehlaine represents metallic.
  • Thokk, Knight of Ice - The Half-Orc War Cleric previously devoted to the God Gruumsh pledged himself to Tiamat and gained dominion over the White Dragons. Thokk embodies the raw animalistic prowess of White Dragons. Like a White Dragon, Thokk prowls the Domain searching for enemies of Tiamat to quickly destroy.
  • Rhogar, Knight of Lightning - The Dragonborn Rogue, once a champion of the people became the supreme leader of the Blue Dragonflight. Rhogar embodies the vain and territorial blue dragons, watching over the dragon's new territory of the Seven Cities desert. Him and his flight protect the entirety of their territory from attacks, souring through the skies as vicious wardens, and also keep the 'peace' within the land itself.
  • Xes, Knight of Poison- The Orc Paladin previously devoted to the God Gruumsh devoted himself to Tiamat, eating her green flesh and gaining dominion over the poisonous Green Dragons. Xes is cunning and treacherous, like the Green Dragons themselves and operates in the Court of Tiamat. He keeps all her followers in line by consistently outwitting any scheme or plot they might have against her.
  • Maldrinuc, Knight of Acid - The Hobgoblin Psionic Knight from Seven Cities became the leader of the Black Dragonflight. Maldrinuc embodies the most evil-tempered of Dragonkind, revelling in destruction and the collapse of societies. Maldrinuc uses his psionic powers to bring down mighty fortifications and creates acid-filled pools to drown his enemies in. Maldrinuc leads the large-scaled sieges and destructive battles, bringing destruction to Tiamat's enemies.
  • Tanner, Knight of Fire - The Kenku Necromancer became the leader of the Red Dragonflight. Tanner was a Wizard in his previous life, so he understands the importance of collecting wealth and knowledge for personal gain. He is exceedingly covetous like the Red Dragons, and looks after the vaults and distribution of equipment throughout the new Draconic Empire.
The Kurvaldian Knights are not only entrusted with overseeing various campaigns throughout the land, acting as Tiamat's will, but are also tasked with her protection. Despite the sheer power of Tiamat, she has died once before and it could happen again. Even without her blessing, the Kurvaldian Knights were powerful in their own right. So with the combination of Godly Draconic power and deadly personalized skills makes the Kurvaldian Knights dangerous for any foe, especially if they work together.

Composition

Equipment

Each individual Knight in this group has unique equipment and weapons that they have collected through their travels. All the members possess a variety of magical items and effects that, and now that they have been transformed by the evil Goddesses power, they all keep secret and hidden from others, both to deter theft but also out of greed.

Vehicles

The Kurvaldian Knights have no need for vehicles, able to soar through the sky on Draconic wings endlessly.

History

When faced with possible demise, the heroic adventuring party known as the Pipsqueaks, fell to corruption and became the Kurvaldian Knights, serving under a viciously evil tyrant. Before then, the members of the Pipsqueaks were a ragtag group of adventurous and generous people, finding kinship amongst themselves and making a living through helping people. However, after the Pipsqueaks ascended innto Kurvald Dehlaine to try and stop Tiamat, five of them succumbed to the temptation of power she offered, while the others ran. These Pipsqueaks that offered their soul in return for great power feasted on Tiamat's flesh, forever chaining themselves to her and gaining a portion of her power, growing and transforming into more Draconic beings. They became the Kurvaldian Knights. The most infamous member of the Pipsqueaks that managed to escape Tiamat was Baracus Despair, Pirate Captain of the Lady of Despair. There is now a bitter rivalry between the Knights and Baracus Despair, one that will, most likely, have sever repercussions for those around them.

Historical loyalties

Once, the Kurvaldian Knights were loyal to each other and to their land. They swore to the King of Neverwinter that they would protect the city from the Chromatic Dragons, but instead they did the opposite. Upon returning after swearing loyalty to Tiamat, the Knights besieged their previous city, utterly destroying anyone who didn't swear fealty to their new Goddess, including those that were their friends.
