Medics
Medics are arcane healers that are adept at manipulating the very life force that makes a creature's heart beat, its mind race, and its muscles ripple and move. Through years of dedicated study, Medics learn how to use a combination of spellwork, tinctures, and their inherent abilities to heal the body, cure diseases, and even improve a creature's capabilities. Medics will often have an inherent, natural connection to blood and the circulatory system, or to the electromagnetic pulses of the nervous system, which helps them in their work. Medics are primarily trained at The College of the Aurelian Order where they receive an inter-disciplinary education that includes the study of natural and divine healing practices. Some Medics choose to take on a very specific and concentrated field of study via an apprenticeship or private tutoring rather than go to a college. This is common with Blood Hunters that want to focus on Hemocraft only or acolytes of the Hall of the Golden Dragon.
Trained Medics are in high demand and have many opportunities open to them. For some this is serving privately under a noble or wealthy family; others will work in healing centers in various cities or in the large hospital on Cord. Only fully trained, graduated Medics are allowed to bring creatures back from the dead, but the desperate may seek out back-alley resurrections by unofficial Medics, with varied success. The College of Practical Wizardry has been trying for the last few years to set up an introductory Medic program, but the College of the Aurelian Order has been hesitant to share this info that could be dangerous or unsafe in the wrong hands.
