Master of Ceremonies

The Master of Ceremonies (MC) is the political and cultural leader of Milodid. The MC oversees the day-to-day needs of the village including resources and safety. They decide on any disputes that are unable to be resolved peacefully between those involved. They are also the representative of Milodid at the Hakathi Council and for any Xericho events. As the Master of Ceremonies, they host all of the ceremonies, performances, and battles that occur in Milodid, with the exception of the battles for the role of MC in which they are a participant only.
Unlike the Dieties Judge (DJ) who is voted into their position by the village, the MC is chosen through a unique ritual meant to honor the Circle of Cipher and to gain the respect of the people they will be leading. MC hopefuls must battle with their words in a large stone amphitheater at the center of Milodid. The entire town comes to watch, and the air is filled with Cipher Bugs. When both participants have had a chance to perform, the Cipher bugs glow brightest for the chosen leader. These battles can occur at any time and the current MC is expected to field any reasonable requests for battles and defend their title as necessary. The most recent MC is an Drow named Mer’cutio Nymm.
