Humans come in the most diverse shapes and sizes of all Races on Eldara. From squat to tall, dark to pale, athletic to sheltered, Humans live in all corners of the Planet. Among the first of the races to be created by fledgeling Gods Humans were created and adaptable generalists - those who could adapt to the constantly shifting world and its emerging regions. While always the superior forces in Eldara, Humans have been challenged in large regions, whether by the mountain-living Dwarfs, swamp-dwelling Lizardfolk, ot one of the many more specialized races. Their history of volatility has made Humans among the most accepting of the races; constant adaptation has created many variations on societies, religions, traditions, and technologies.
Creation of Humans:Born of Mara, Humans entered the world toward its tempestuous beginning. Their scriptures speak of them being led by Edward while fleeing the volcanic Gate; they fled the dark god when Edward led them to the late Helltooth Peninsula, and shore it from the continent. While their island floated into the Northern Ocean he named and consecrated it as a place where all may rest in peace and civility from the outside world henceforth naming it Refuge. Under the protection of their powerful protector the Humans quickly conquered the land, and spread throughout the Old World, outstripping the Demons that originally inhabited it. Having quickly overtaken the world, the Gods agreed to create more races and creatures to combat them and keep them from destroying the planet.
AdaptationBeing born in such an early age the Humans were the standard for creatures to come. Adaptation was seen as paramouint during this time, the ecosystem of the world hadn't fully established itself, and the Gods watched the humans during their trials, keeping a watchful eye on how to further change the world, and challenge its inhabitants. Other Races have been introduced to Eldara, and the Humans have been quick to seize the situation, and either make peace with, or destroy the competition. While many races have been made since, none have been able to challenge the Humans, who can easily adapt to meet the challenge. Indeed, challenge seems to be in the blood of the humans, as many attempts have been made to cut down their numbers, but few succeed. Their love for challenges often lead them into dangerous or difficult situations, and many are born with what others would call a "death wish."
Grand Aspirations
A Human with no challenge quickly develops boredom - a largely human trait, therefore, most humans form aspirations more grandiose than those of the other Races. Human aspirations are often larger, and more short-term than those of the longer-lived beings - part of their grand plan is a conquest toward the eternal. While their many adaptations have brought them unprecedented prosperity, their great hunger for the ever-greater brings them to fight with death itself - a goal the Gods might suspect that they will win. Humans make great heroes and villains due to their lofty plots, goals, and ideals; their fascination with death causes them to join riskier professions than members of other Races.
Types of Humans: (Subraces)With so many different Humans and cultures it comes as no surprise that many of them vary wildly from one another. Humans have adapted and evolved to live in cities, forests, moutains, plains, and an endless number of other varied locations. Here are a few examples of a few Humans and their variations.
Kulahar (The Wanderers)Kulahar are a sturdy group of Humans; they are believed to have been amongst the first Humans to walk Eldara. They tend to form tightly-knit tribal organizations and have fewer organizational structures to divide their jobs and roles in society. The Kulahar are renowned for their ability to survive in the wilderness, and what feats they accomplish in such small groups.
Gisha (The Foresters)The Gisha are a strong group of Humans that survive in the harsh wilderness. The Gisha are renowned hunters among humankind and form smaller, reputation-based hierarchies; the reputation of Gisha are worth more than their lives themselves. The Gisha are known as free-spirits amongst the Humans, being slightly more chaotic in nature than others, but are fiercely loyal to others; they separate personal order from social order.
Solath (The Civilized)Most Humans on Eldara are Solath; the Solath congregate into large cities for safety, and are considered the most lawful of all Humans. They live in strict social hierarchies for Humans, and only stray from them when they believe they are pushed out of them. The Solath believe that each of them is a cog in the machine that is society, and often have conflicting emotions with their expectations and their aspirations.

Human society is blended together by the mix of their shorter lifespan combined with their desire for the eternal. More than other races Humans enjoy the mixture of life in things that range from politics, cities, and daily routines. A Human city enjoys the orderly, but often will mix in the shabby, cheap, or temporary to go along with their ancient walls and castles. Human society is organized largely into hierarchies, but have many classes, or castes of people inserted into each hierarchy for various reasons. Humans enjoy both the safety of that which they know, and the exotic.
Kulahar,Gisha,Solath
Due to a lack of the inhibitions of other races, humans are largely more accepting of those of other races than other races are are of Humans. Long-lived races, such as Dwarfs and Morlovians see Humans as self-satisfying allies at best, and rapacious villains at worst. Short-lived races such as Thaelron, see Humans on much more equal footing, seeing them as innovators on one hand, and easily taken advantage of on the other.
