Sanctum of Shadows

Setting: Nexarion's lair, the Sanctum of Shadows, is situated deep beneath the capital city of Velora, accessible only through a series of hidden passages and protected by powerful magical wards and traps. The lair is carved out of ancient, dark stone and is alive with pulsating arcane energy.   Atmosphere: The atmosphere of the sanctum is oppressive and eerie, filled with the whispers of the past and the weight of eternal darkness. Flickering torches with magical flames that never extinguish light the winding corridors and vast chambers, casting long shadows.

Main Features

Throne Room: The central chamber of the Sanctum of Shadows serves as Nexarion's throne room. This vast hall is dominated by a towering throne made of black stone, inscribed with runes that glow faintly with necrotic energy. The throne sits atop a dais, flanked by statues of fallen heroes and past rulers, their eyes set with gems that seem to follow one’s movements.   The Arcane Library: This extensive library houses thousands of ancient tomes, scrolls, and magical artifacts. The shelves are arranged in a labyrinthine pattern, and the knowledge within is protected by spells that can only be bypassed by Nexarion or those he specifically allows. The library serves as a repository of all magical and historical knowledge accrued over centuries.   Chamber of the Weave: This sacred chamber is where Nexarion communes with the Weave. It contains a massive crystal nexus that channels raw magical energy from the Weave itself. The chamber is a nexus point for magical lines, making it a place of immense power and danger.   Crypts of Eternity: As a lich, Nexarion maintains a crypt where his previous forms and failed experiments reside. This area of the sanctum is heavily guarded by undead servants and is where Nexarion's phylactery is hidden, surrounded by complex traps and enchantments.   The Ritual Circle: A large, circular room with a floor marked by an elaborate magical sigil used for summoning and binding rituals. This room is used for high magical ceremonies and experiments that require significant space and magical containment.
