Mystic Theurge

The Mystic Theurge is said to be the embodiment of Knowledge, Understanding, and Counsel. The Book of Light does not provide much details about them. It is not even apparent if they were a man or woman. The book also portrays them in conflicting and counter intuitive ways. In some places they are described as a priest, yet in others they are called a sage or mage. The Holy Flame often chooses to ignore, or omit, them because by all accounts they were likely both a priest and a mage. Since the Holy Flame teaches that power corrupts, but nothing corrupts like arcane power, most of the faithful don’t trust arcane spellcasters. It is not uncommon for the Mystic Theurge to be referred to as a test of faith to the other founding saints, whose purpose was to try to extinguish the Light and draw the world into Darkness. Regardless of this, it is known that they were the primary author of the Book of Light and completed it after the martyrdom of the prophets Malorn and Vollana. It is also unclear about their fate.
