Na'Faish
Na'Faish was the most distant eastern extent of the old Eal Empire during the War of the Seeds. Despite the city now being abandoned, the Tokmor Firestone many buildings here were built with continue to absorb sunlight during the day, then emit it in brilliant colors at night, making the ruins a dangerous but beautiful oasis for those few travellers who still trek through the Volron'ton desert. The journey to the city east from the Raven's Way over the eastern desert is a torturous week-long trek over rocky and sandy terrain utterly devoid of drinkable water, under a sun hot enough to seemingly bake water and salt out of mortal bodies as sweat evaporates off the skin as soon as it is produced. During this time the lights of Na'Faish still shine on the horizon, clearly visible as one crests each sand dune, almost mocking travellers as they always appear at night to be much closer than they really are.
Since being destroyed by Jae'Kalan's forces early in the war, Na'Faish has eluded recolonisation efforts. It is rumoured the town is now held by a red dragon and its kobold slaves, which if true would be the fifth time a Red has reclaimed the city as a lair since the war.
The former Governess of Na'Faish was Salsten Riley. Already a hero to opponents of the Eal mageocracy and other Jae'Kalan loyalists, she became a legend of the war due to her leadership of the elite Desert Roses, the greatest light cavalry force the Empire has seen. Despite losing Na'Faish, the Roses continued to fight Jae'Kalan's horde for two months straight before participating in the Battle of Eal, and then fought in the Battle of Twelve Acorns barely five months later. Riley is one of the three founding rulers of the Dinga States.
