The Burning Man

A red streak can sometimes be seen in the skies across Elandar, like a meteor flying through the heavens. If it ever lands, it is believed that one would see the charred humanoid figure beyond the cloak of flames the Burning Man is always covered in if they were close enough. Eternally ablaze, the Burning Man is a stoic figure who never gives a name when prompted. The natives of Elandar claim that he is the guardian protector of the lands, and that anyone who meets him is either tied to the fate of Elandar or doomed to be reduced to ashes. The Burning Man is a controversial figure for natives and colonizers alike, as the Burning Man has yet to banish the foreign invaders but has also made no move to aid them. Some natives believe it is a sign that foreigners are to be accepted, while others believe it to be a test to see if the inhabitants of Elandar deserve his protection.
