The Eternal King

Timeless stories recount a long-lost kingdom that rose to great power and prestige under the reign of a single highly successful king. Hailed as a herald blessed by the gods, the king was beloved by all who lived under his rule because the king was invested in the happiness of his subjects. When he met his end, he believed that he would continue to guide his people in the great heavens above, and that he would be beloved for all eternity. However, when entering Erala’s realm for judgment and learning that there was no special reward nor position for him, he despaired and resigned himself to fate’s will. But just as he was to be sent to heaven, his soul was ripped back down to the material plane by his old court wizard, acting on orders from the crown prince to briefly give guidance on political affairs through a quick Speak With Dead casting session.
The king, who had learned of his ultimate fate, sought to avoid becoming useless and willed his soul to stay on the material plane after the Speak With Dead spell completed its course. Becoming a ghost, the king reprised his role as king before the prince could take over, which the prince did not take kindly to. The prince brought exorcists to dispel the ghost, but supporters of the old king came to protect him. The conflict expanded until the entire kingdom was split between support for the ghost king and support for the living prince, with the ghost king offering to make a prosperous kingdom for all eternity. The ghost king had more support than the prince and won the kingdom over, exiling the prince and his followers while allowing his most loyal supporters to join him in undeath so that they too may help him guide the kingdom to peace forever.
The prince sought aid from the faith of Erala to condemn his blasphemous kingdom and help him restore it, resulting in a holy war that ended with the destruction of the old kingdom. However, the ghost king and his undying followers remained, and the support of these eternal followers transcended the ghost king into a true deity: an undead monarch with the aim of creating a prosperous kingdom under his unending rule. The ghost king Rebris had become the Eternal King Rebris.
To this day, Rebris will grant undeath to the oathsworn who will contribute to his perfect kingdom, freeing them from the fear of moving on by granting them a form of immortality. He cares not for the world outside of his realm, for only his subjects deserve his kindness in his eyes. Those who swear fealty to the Eternal King should expect no mercy from Erala or her followers, should they ever be caught.

Body Features

A hulking suit of black full plate complete with spikes, a matching cape, and a helmet-crown. Where his face should be exists only darkness, save for two glowing pinpricks of green light serving as eyes.
