Fame rules

Over time as player characters become more powerful, they will gain the attention of the public as knowledge of their powers spread.   Starting at level 7 player characters begins to gain fame (with exceptions written below). The fame is based on a knw. local check and is calculated like this: DC 25 - (level - 7). Effectively this means every level above level 7, the DC is reduced by 1.
Certain famous actions can also further reduce the DC. As an example a powerful magical healer giving treatment to the poor frequently is likely to become famous far quicker than somebody who purely repels the various bandits and monsters around Port Prine. It is also possible to spend 7 days of downtime to raise or reduce your fame DC by 1, reflecting your work on spreading or quashing the various rumors about you.
It is likewise possible to entirely opt out of the fame system, however the mods should be informed of this. This will not function if you perform a noteworthy public act, but it will still increase the DC and people may forget you in time.
Likewise adopting a masked persona or similar features such as the vigilante's dual identity will enable you to only have fame on one of your identities.   Of course it is possible to earn fame before level 7. To do so, one would have to either perform a major noteworthy public achievement or work intensely on gaining that fame. Simply spending downtime won't cut it until you have the fame. RP is required for it.
