During the battle at the EL Space Station, the bodies of Taggart's unit were found with bullet holes in their heads.
It's possible that Taggart was one of the subjects that used a Stasis Pod to teleport out of the EL Space Station. Prof. Vanessa Valentine is under the impression this happened.
