CoS Session 37: The Ruins of Kanara

General Summary

3/4/876

• Party makes it to Kanara, things are looking grim
• Buildings are being demolished, streets are stripped down and excavated
• Lots of orange lights, not much sign of real life
• Theo’s balloon gets burst, crash-lands on museum
• Medraad disguises as a guard, pretends he caught Adam and Prichard
• A couple soldiers show up to help him escort them to prison
• At the prison where Verona was held they’re put in a 3rd-floor cell
• One guard goes to notify higher-ups about catching Adam
• Other guard gets sent into laughing fit by Medraad, beaten to death by party
• Party tries to escape with 'Telekinesis' from room, but Cella shows up
• Her left arm is in a cast from fall
• She has a lot of guards with her
• Boss Fight: Cella Vivaldi and guards
• At least six guards show up by end of battle
• A couple get killed by Medraad’s eldritch tentacles
• Others fire pot shots at Prichard
• Cella gets telekinetically dropped to ground floor by Medraad
• Adam and Prichard are down there to deal w/ her
• Adam throws several powerful blows, one critical
• Cella poisons Prichard, KO’s him in 5th round
• But Medraad heals him up
• Medraad, after dealing w/ roof guards, levitates to ground
• Fires several eldritch blasts at Cella, kills her once and for all
• In dying breath, she taunts that Fairouz is in Oblast getting Ostry Blade
• In the meantime, they’re resurrecting an old black dragon
• As she dies, she casts final spell to revive black dragon from Arc I
• Party gets the hell out of dodge
• They hide in alleyway for short rest, convince guards to let them through gate
• Prichard casts confusion for good measure, they find horses and leave

• Party can see skeleton dragon being led to Gameria from afar
• Prichard tries to convince unbelief god to help, god refuses
• A couple of guards catch up to party, get ruthlessly murdered
• They’re just scouts, they don’t know much about Fairouz’s acitivies
• They an confirm that Cella is 100% dead

• Party makes it to miserable fishing village of Erdine
• only one guy lives in town by name of Saltonstall
• Dozens of chickens walk around though
• One of them has lobster head on, named Seevo
• Saltonstall gives them chicken to eat after Adam beats him in fight
• Dozens of people used to live here, not anymore
• Orange guards from Coven showed up to take chickens
• Medraad convinces him to join The Shroud
• Man in Black amazed by scope of Saltonstall’s power
• There’s enough supplies and equipment to make small gondola for Theo airship
• They pack up to leave, thank Saltonstall for hospitality
• Theo wonders if he’s Leverett the Bold, centuries-old powerful wizard
• That guy was a big fan of chickens too
