CoS Session 35: The War is Over
General Summary
2/1/876
- Party arrives in Ravi
- Had to deal with some minor skirmishes on the way there
- Medraad studies wizardry, grows out beard
- Nikolaj still dour about killing Aldo, asks Queen Astrid about her responsibilities as queen
- she says there’s nobody who’d be able to do her job
- Adam spars with some of the soldiers
- Ravi is fortified in a last-ditch effort, but there are tunnels leading under city
- Queen tasks party with giving terms of surrender to Idris, the de facto leader
- Elan and Catriona staying in camp to assist Queen
- Party starts descending tunnel, finds an odd mural
- It’s the same one they found when they killed Darwish
- But it’s covered over in orange graffiti
- A female figure is summoning an orange monster with a blade of some sort
- Party runs into a couple guards deeper into the tunnel
- Nikolaj is noticed in a shocking turn of events
- But Adam kills both of them with ruthless efficiency
- They toss the bodies down a mineshaft
- In Ravi it’s a lot more dirty and crowded since their last visit here
- There are more refugees around, desperate as Avicenna collapses
- Party investigates and finds out Idris is holed up in Lux Avicen
- Medraad buys a cart from a homeless man, disguises as maid
- Adam and Nikolaj hide inside cart
- They get clearance to go upstairs w/out much issue
- Guards wave Medraad through, assuming he’s treat for Idris
- In Idris’ office Medraad seduces and corners Idris, saying he needs to surrender
- Idris says arrangements have already been made for his future
- Just then Fairouz and Coven appear in the suite
- As they’re monologuing and meeting Adam, Medraad casts spell circle
- This imprisons Fairouz and Morrigan
- But Fairouz has tricks of her own, turns Idris into fire imp
- Boss Battle: Coven and Fire Imp
- The party’s focus is on killing imp, so they attack relentlessly
- Fire imp is a nuisance, and he does KO Adam in the end
- Cella is outside of circle, but briefly blinded in darkness by Medraad
- The magical circle isn’t great for Fairouz and Morrigan
- They have trouble firing off shots from within
- Adam punches the shit out of Fairouz, nearly kills her
- But at death’s door, she drains Morrigan’s life force for second wind
- Morrigan killed, but Fairouz gets grace period to escape
- She teleports over near window and next to Cella
- They want to escape, but Medraad has other plans
- He casts thunder wave, pushes them out of 25-story window
- Fairouz dies on impact, but Cella’s body isn’t there when they go look
- Fairouz’s phylactery is also missing!
- Amidst the chaos the party escapes back to Queen’s camp
- She chalks the day up as win
- A Court member is dead, and Avicenna is crushed
- Ravi surrenders by the end of the day
- Next few days will hammer out terms of surrender
- Ravi will become part of Gameth for its resources
- Piedmonte will become a part of Sardivelia
- Avicenna's new borders will be area in and around Kanara once Fairouz defeated
- Queen is perplexed by the mural
- The weapon used to open portal is what destroyed Myltev Empire
- If that’s what Fairouz is after, that would spell disaster for world
- Adam pays his respect for Sebastian at place where he killed Gen. Boua
- Medraad meets up with Man in Black
- Small talk, interested in Fairouz developments
- Also, keep an eye on odd happenings in the sea
