Rumeno the Good
"A city full of fighters has no need for one more. I must find that need, and follow it."Rumeno the Good
Rumeno was a hero born in the Bhrennish village of Adderdow in 862. His family was poor, but their friendship with the lord at the time gave Rumeno access to combat training when he demonstrated exceptional strength as a young teenager. He was 19 when a caravan passing through the town was looking to hire an extra guard, and the lord recommended him. He accompanied the caravan to Saalem Mizri, and just before their arrival, they were held up by a notorious gang of brigands who made use of evocation magic, called the Edge of Flest. Rumeno demonstrated great bravery in driving them off, though he suffered grave injuries. The caravan made it to Saalem Mizri, where he was healed, and began to train under one of the knights in the city, a paladin of Marosk. Rumeno became greatly devoted to both Mannaret and Marosk, and after his training was complete he began to travel across Nuviel to small villages with no fighters, teaching the most capable among them to make and use weapons to provide for and protect the townsmen. He traveled once to Valdmead to work with the guard there, but did not stay long.
His most notable venture was the defeat of a cult of Lesta-Yen which had been spreading disease in a variety of Nuvielli villages, his divine power inoculating him to most of their magic. Four were left who begged for mercy, and he granted it to them. The encounter widened his focus, and he returned to Valdmead to spend a few years training apprentices to set out teaching villagers to defend themselves, as he had been doing. This venture complete, he devoted himself to defeating cults that threatened the weak and vulnerable. He fell at the age of 31 to a cult of fiendish warlocks.
His longsword, Ixido, is kept in the headquarters of the guild formed in his honor, the Blades of Sacro Rumeno, in Valdmead.
