Lesta-Yen

"She was a scientist. She simply lacked any will to use her findings for altruistic ends."

Lesta-Yen is the goddess of disease and decay. She was fascinated by how the body reacted to injury and wondered if she could develop something that could mindlessly and efficiently destroy the body over a period of time. Thus from her very scientific mind was born the concept of disease. She worked tirelessly over a period of years, unleashing her creations in small doses and seeing how they worked. When her brother Kan Zul came to her asking for help, she let loose all her machinations without holding back, and pestilence overtook the land. This called the attention of Perennitus, forcing Lesta-Yen to withdraw and continue her work more quietly. It is said that she could make anyone or anything deathly ill with a single touch, and wherever she walked, plants rotted and died. It is widely asserted, even outside of her followers, that she was probably the Meydra with the greatest unused power. She is portrayed as an emaciated grey-skinned woman with long green hair, clad only in light wisps of cloth, usually holding a rotten apple.

Relationships

Lesta-Yen's parents were Fierel and Illethar. She had two siblings, Kan Zul and Dzuzce. She is not thought to have had any children of her own.

Followers

Lesta-Yen's followers tend to be fanatics, frequently sadists and even eugenicists. There are some, however, who have seen or personally experienced chronic disease to which they attribute a certain strength of character, and thus nurture some degree of devotion to Lesta-Yen as the source of this growth.
