Fierel

"I confess I'm not sure I can trust your word."
"You can't. But you can trust my rage."

Fierel, also known as Birse in some regions, is the god of wrath. He and Madjei were initially close companions. Madjei taught him how to create artificial life and a great many other magical secrets, even gifting him with a pair of gloves that helped him to generate magic. However, Fierel soon became intimidated by the depth of Madjei’s power and distanced himself from him. Soon Madjei fell from the reach of all the Meydra, leaving Fierel feeling lonely and betrayed. Unable to accept fault, he sought companionship with other Meydra, but with each rejection he distanced himself more and more from them with his anger. Eventually he took to himself and began creating a host of terrible creatures, making thorough use of the gloves Madjei had made for him. Each successful creation was either unleashed carelessly upon the world, or sicced specifically on another creature or group, and eventually it was Vedanav, a longtime victim of Fierel's creations, who gathered the strength to fight back against her tormenter and apprehend Fierel, tearing the gloves from his hands. Fierel tried in vain to restore the gloves but their power was lost, and his rage burst forth from him, manifesting a great volcano beneath him, which is now known as Mount Zorn. Fierel is portrayed as a very tall, sparsely clad man, with a loincloth, a wide necklace serving as a chestpiece, torn black gloves, and magma showing through cracks in his dark skin.

Relationships

As described above, Fierel was originally close with Madjei, and later was not particularly close with anyone. However, he did have an ongoing relationship with Illethar, which could be characterized as mutually destructive, and which resulted in the Meydra Kan Zul, Dzuzce, and Lesta-Yen.

Followers

Fierel's clerics are usually people who have embarked on missions of vengeance and look to him to provide them with the power they need to exact that vengeance.
