Feast of Sim Olive

The Feast of Sim Olive is a religious festival taking place on July 10th. It is a day of traditional music, good food, and strong drink. Sim Olive was a Simra, daughter of Rōz-El, about whom relatively little is known, except that when she and her family visited Avera, she ended the plague that had held the land in its clutches for several years. The mere sight of her gentle smile drove the sickness away. On this holiday, physicians and healers are traditionally given small gifts by their families, friends, and past patients. The holiday is very prominent across Avera but also celebrated in Talazic.
The main traditional festival food is roast partridge on skewers with special Averan spices, and hard pink candies.
