Katherine von Silphi married Oliver von Roland in 1880, five years prior to the birth of their daughter Estelle von Roland. A diplomatic marriage meant to solidify the fragile relationship following the Roland Civil War. Katherine did not particularly care for Oliver at first, but soon came to admire the attention he paid their daughter, and the connection they shared. While Katherine did not always agree with Oliver's plans for leadership, she saw herself as the method through which he was able to connect with the Rose Garden following the end of the war.
