Back Story

When her cousin becomes Patriarch of their farm, Mipri, he tells her she must leave. She had no interest in working the farm, and she is becoming a burden on the family. Kayin had opportunities, especially as a dreamer. She finally decides to strike off to Tholorn instead, as a place where many dreamers filter through in Hemalia. Kayin hopes it will be a place for her to belong.

Kayin is revealed to be a nightmare and a soul shard. She can convert others by finding what they most desire and 'grasping' that in their mind. As part of the shattered goddess, she merges with Chisna and becomes ruler of Hemalia.

Caedric Bastil

Caedric is a director at Tholorn Keep and son of the mayor of Bastil. His job is to short through dreamers as they come into Tholorn. He also checks through and organizes any deliveries to the Keep. He believes he is strong, truthful and willing to do anything for those he loves.

Back Story

Caedric is a director at Tholorn Keep. His job is to short through dreamers as they come into Tholorn. He also checks through and organizes any deliveries to the Keep. He believes he is strong, truthful and willing to do anything for those he loves. He is just starting out in life, having come to Tholorn when young, at first sent by his father to spend summers there then moving to Tholorn full time and working for the council. He is now next in line for a council seat. Caedric believes that Tholorn does good work, and makes sure Dreamers don't remain idle in Hemalia. Caedric wanted to marry Maaj-Brit, but she turned him down and broke up with him. Now he feels listless and finds less and less joy in what he does. Looking for a change, he has begun thinking of going home to Bastil and giving up his chance at the Tholorn council. Caedric is the son of the Mayor, Brinsen.

While excelling at his postion in Tholorn's council and looking to obtain a council seat himself, personally, Caedric is unhappy. After Maaj-Brit refused to marry him and left him for Nald, Caedric has been unable to bounce back as much of his self-worth was tied to the relationship. He finds himself withdrawing more, because while he is still friends with Maaj-Brit, he can't bring himself to celebrate her success. He knows he should and this is all on him, so he is beginning to think maybe he should go home to Bastil. However when Kayin comes on the scene and Thorlorn is thrown into turmoil, Caedric is scouped up into the plan keep her from becoming the broken goddess. He ends ups fleeing with Kayin, Maaj-Brit and Tiff from religious fantatics in Tholorn right into the arms of the goddess herself. During a battle against fanatics, he is thrown into the Forest Wall and is lost.

Maaj-Brit Tholorn (23) - Maaj-Brit is an optimist. She thinks everyone is trying to be a good person, tries to treat everyone as equal. She is currently the secretary to the council of Tholorn. However, Maaj-Brit is also about to get married to Nath, a traveling merchant she has been dating for sometime. She is concerned the council won't find a replacement. She believes the council does good work and worries about the news from the rest of Hemalia of the cult of Na. She wants to get married and start her new life in her husband's business. Maaj-Brit has been looking forward to the travel. She has lived her whole life at Tholorn, and grew up in the Keep kitchens. Hair: brown and curly, Skin: white, freckles. Dream: can only sense it.
Tiff Leewood (22) - Tiff doesn't fit well with the town of Leewood. Her family adopted the belief in Na later in her childhood and she never liked the changes. She spent some time learning spearwork from the town guard, but never could see herself working in the fields for the rest of her life. Tiff doesn't believe in much. She has a healthy fear of the unknown, growing up near the Forest Wall. Once, when her mother and sisters took her out to the shrine of Na, she wandered away as the washed the statue pieces. Tiff went too close to the Forest Wall. Since then she sees a ghostly figure which sometimes speaks to here. She has tried to just ignore it and has never told anyone. Tiff wants adventure, and will take anything if it means she isn't staying in Leewood. Hair: dark, ringlets. Skin: dark, Eyes: Dark. Dream: she can feel it. Sometimes other feel her when she is scared.
Chessa Cidre – Princess of Hemalia, soul shard, and Nightmare. Merged with Kayin. Began the cult of Na in Hemalia and had it declared the state region. Dream: Green.
Antero Mael – Hemalian ambassador. Airship pilot. Brown hair. Likes to brag. Survivor of the purge of Mael. First lieutenant of Kayin.

Bredga Dinsai young, head strong, no beard. Carries an overlarge sword and wears a harness for it. Wears boots and fur pants of an animal he skinned himself. Muscular, tan, blond pageboy hair cut. Has no sense.

Hemalia is a mix of high plains and desert, with scar of mountians through the middle known as the Ralds. Dreamers are so common in Hemalia that many are sent around to world work.
