First Age: The Age of Giants

Giant people, giant creatures, giant plants. Massively large lifeforms dominated the world.   Giantfolk had great cities and built many wonderous things.   Near the end of the First Age, Dragon "eggs" fell from the skies as balls of fire and rock creating large craters and plumes of dust and smoke.   Dragons arrived from their home world Drakonis. Thousands of years of war left their world a smoldering ruin.   The Giants are initially fascinated by these strange and wonderous creatures. Once large enough, the Dragons turn on the Giants and the Colossi Wars commence.   Centuries of war between the Dragons and Giantfolk left the world forever changed. The civilizations of the Giantfolk were largely destroyed and Dragons came to rule the lands and the skies.

Second Age: The Age of Dragons

The Giantfolk retreated to the edges of the world where they built fortified settlements in rugged places to fend off frequent attacks from the Dragons.   During the Second Age, many Giantfolk hid from the Dragons in smaller groups in caves and other primitive settlements. This begins the decline and regression.   Dragons rule the world. By the middle of the Second Age, much of the world's megafauna has been consumed by the enormous and largely-unchallenged rulers.   Eventually the largest and oldest Dragons begin eating younger and smaller Dragons, leading to factions and groups forming for mutual defense.   End of the Second Age sees the start of the Dragon Wars as the mega-predators fight over dwindling resources and territory.

Third Age: The Age of Darkness

The Dragon Wars are terrible and destructive. The battles start many raging fires which fill the skies with smoke and ash, blotting out the sun and darkening the world.   The Dragons decline and with the loss of many of the world's largest creatures, the largest and oldest of the Dragons die off.   With the dwindling of larger prey and loss of vegetation from fires and diminished sunlight, the Dragons and megafauna of the world fall from dominance and the smaller creatures of the world survive and even begin to gain some ground.   Just as the world shows real signs of recovery, the Demon Hordes arrive from the Lower Realms in their march on the realms of the Celestials.   The Demons begin to hunt and consume the creatures of the world and everywhere they go, the plants wither and decay.   The Celestials arrive with their armies to counter the advances of the Infernal Hordes.   The Dwur were created by the Celestial Mohrdan out of the deepest and strongest rock to help defend the world from evil.   The Eladryn were created by the Celestial Faeor out of the magical ethers and plants of the world.   The Orak were created by the Infernal Prince Duumjic by corrupting captured Eladryn.   The Demon Wars continued for thousands of years with many ebbs, flows, and partial recoveries.   Third Age ends with The Sundering that sees the Celestials defeat the Infernals and splits the Mortal Realm into the Five Realms.

Fourth Age: The Age of Light

The beginning of the Fourth Age is sometime around 6000 BE. About 500 years before the establishment of the Elven Calendar.   Many Eladryn fade from the Middle Realm with the Fae Realm. Those that aren't able to make the journey remain and become the Elves.   The world recovers, the light returns. There are many foul remnants of the Demon Wars that plague the world and for thousands of years the peoples of the light work to cleanse and heal the world.   Elves become the stewards of the world as they engage in their battle for their future and endure the Kinslayer Wars.
