Many of today's Common Measures descend from the Imperial Measures of the Crimson Empire and its former wide-spread reach. These measures are commonly employed throught the eastern and central lands as well as most trade centers of the western lands.

Common/Imperial Coin Weight

For many centuries, the standard weight of all coins of the Crimson Empire has been set to 1/80th (0.0125) lb. Many realms, some former states of the Empire, continue to use this standard coin weight to facilitate easier currency exchanges and expand the acceptance of their coins. The Common Coin Weight (cw) is also a widely accepted measurement for smaller weights.
