Billon

Billon, sometimes called coin metal, is an alloy of silver and copper that is used almost exclusively for coins in the Kingdom of Keyrand and many of the former Keyrish States. Regulated by royal decree, billon is to be 19% silver and 81% copper.
In recent decades a few of the former Keyrish States began adjusting the proportion of silver to copper to create their own versions of billon. This has lead to a devaluation and diminished acceptance of some billon coins outside their issuing realms.

Value

Keyrish Billon is a common store of value and widely available in most trade centers throughout the western realms. It's value is extremely stable and consistent at 5:1 Silver (x 0.2).
