Pierre's Sketchbook
A great amount of discussion, although silence and held underground, is held in deciphering the sketchbooks/personal journals of His Luminescence Pierre Rostova. They speak of life that does not fully harmonise with the Empire's narrative of events, small notes, Polaroids, and scraps have been used in countless conspiracy theories of what the old world may have looked like. Officially, the Empire says that the 'sacred documents' are filled with grand visions of other worlds and dreams that the Nezuroban consort may have had, however, the lack of a statement from the author himself leave the public sceptical of this statement and curious to where the truth may actually lie.
Behind closed doors, Pierre finds himself quite grateful for the leaks of the sketchbooks. They speak of things he could never get away with conveying publicly and their authenticity speaks to the genuine truth of what happened. Or at least, how Pierre saw it. Though he wishes that he could see them again and reminisce, he knows they would be ripped away from him. Better that his sketchbooks enjoy the freedom that he cannot.
Purpose
In his childhood, Pierre kept a small personal tradition of always carrying with him an A5 book of sketches, scribbles and notes of his travels. Not one to waste he would often incorporate trash, and small threads of memorabilia into his works. He would often sketch the world around him, landscapes, items around him and whatever he found to be interesting in order to try and improve his art.
To Pierre, his sketchbooks were a normal factor of his life he didn't think much about. He would often sketch in them during a lull in daily life, when waiting for meals to cool, or in the evening before bed. He would write notes, small things to remember, small quotes or parts of life he found interesting and wanted to remember for later.
