Cinder, Scion of the Forge
Cinder is the Scion of the Forge. He was a Fire Genasi raised by a family of traitors to the Brisingelion. He was born in the harsh volcanic deserts north of Sanctum, Dwelling of the Deities. Unwilling to join his kin in their hatred of the Brisingelion and their Culled, Cinder was eventually cast out of his clan and exiled from their lands. Alone and dejected, the genasi undertook the grueling journey hundreds of miles to the south - towards Sanctum. Nearly dead from exhaustion and hunger, he collapsed against the great First Age city's gates.
When he awoke, his wounds had been healed, his hunger abated, and his exhaustion had passed - a kind citizen of the city had taken him in and nursed him back to health. The kind stranger turned out to be Ragrus Ashbreaker, a weathered dwarven priest of Oros and a consecrated blacksmith. Ragrus was a harsh, but goodly man, and quickly put Cinder to work stoking the great kilns and furnaces of the Infinite Spirit's temples. Over many years, Cinder honed his craft on the anvil of Ashbreaker's tutelage - eventually becoming a master at the craft and being granted the title of consecrated blacksmith in the church of Oros.
First Age historical documents relate that Cinder was there when Sanctum was attacked by the fiends of Magog during the First Howling. And that he sacrificed his life to shatter the gargantuan chains that anchored the city to the surface of Edras, allowing it to retreat above the Celestial Canopy and eventually settle upon the surface of Sasona. For this great act of heroism, Oros rewarded Cinder with apotheosis as the Scion of the Forge.
