Personal history
Driggag was an orphan for the entirety of his childhood, with no idea who his parents were, if he even had any, or where he came from. He spent a majority of his time in nature, and he gained a deep respect for nature's power and majesty. As time wore on, the nature around him began to respect his presence in turn. The young Driggag began to commune with a powerful entity called the Spirit of Nature. The Spirit of Nature wished to adopt the young genasi and helped him unlock his innate druidic powers. The date upon which he was to be adopted by her came and went, however, and she began to fade from Driggag's mind.
Many years later, at the age of nineteen, Driggag left the orphanage and travelled to the nearest village to find work. After a week in the village, Driggag was visited by the Spirit of Nature in his dreams. She revealed to him that she had created an avatar with which to adopt him, but she had been imprisoned by a being known as the Dark Druid. The Dark Druid planned to siphon her power and use it to change the landscape of Vukeron into a swampy wasteland where he could rule forever and become the new embodiment of nature. He also learned that she was growing weak and would not be able to resist the Dark Druid's power for longer than another year. With this information, Driggag left the village and sought out adventurers to help him in his quest.
Soon, he found adventurers on the road from Valendale to Grendale. These adventurers, known as the Crimson Dragons, also had a mercenary band under their control. They accepted Driggag into their inner circle and began to consolidate power and gain allies for a battle against the Dark Druid. Driggag personally acquired numerous magical items, gaining wisdom beyond mortal limits and a mystical cloak known as the robe of eyes that allowed him to see in all directions as well as into the ethereal plane around him. Driggag won a gambling tournament in order to get the Crimson Dragons a guide into Ixathar, the Void Valley. In the Void Valley, the group swiped the Chronicle of Ascension from the Dark Druid's minions so as to prevent him from ascending to godhood prior to their battle. It was also here that Driggag presented his logical and empathetic nature. Driggag managed to convince the Crimson Dragons to spare the local mindflayer colony as they only killed sentient creatures in self-defence and subsisted off of a diet of animals that they farmed. Driggag's mercy also was displayed after he spared a froghemoth that attacked the Crimson Dragons in a fit of hunger.
Driggag also participated in the battle against the Dark Druid and the assault on the Darkkeep. Together with the inner circle of the Crimson Dragons, minus Metal Ox, they defeated the Dark Druid, the mutated Dark Druid, and the Dark Druid as a god after he absorbed the Spirit of Nature. Driggag, in a fit of uncharacteristic rage, smote the Dark Druid with a ninth level sunbeam directly into the heart. The god was felled instantaneously by the magical blast and all that remained was the dying form of the Spirit of Nature. With her dying breaths, she praised Driggag for his heroics and bestowed upon him her power. Driggag was transformed into the god of wildfires before his adventuring party's eyes. After the transfer of power, the Spirit of Nature had died and revealed her true form to be that of a forest gnome druid. Driggag manifested a beautiful fire-colored flower to plant over her grave where she had died. This would ultimately become the place where a circle of wildfire druids would come to make a druidic grove to learn in and preserve the sanctity of the Wildfire Flower.
Driggag also restored the Heart of the Forest that had been taken and saved a dying forest. He settled in the forest, which became known as the Red Woods, and raised the plant dragon he had liberated from the Dark Druid's prison. It is here that he founded the Pantheon of Nature, where he rules over the gods of nature. Most notably, he gained the allegiance of the god of bears, Bob Bearbreaker.
