Temporal Rift

A temporal rift is a rip in space and time that allows a person to see glimpses of the past and the future, time rifts are identified by the ripple they leave in place and last from a few seconds to several minutes. A Temporal Rifts are quite rare but are known to appear in areas thick with Sacred Energy. 
Temporal Rifts distort the areas they are in, breaking the known laws of physics, they can destroy the area around them and kill anything biological. The size of the rift is proporsitional to the amount of sacred energy in the area, they are typically rather small on planets but can be quite large in space. 
These rifts are needed by mages in order to cast [Cadence. The purpose is that a rift allows a mage to travel back in time.
