Wendel
Stopping for rest, Wendel sat down on a stumped log outside the nearby village. Or maybe it was a town. It was a little too big to be just a village. His hood was up. Wendel did this for discretion. Not everyone was used to seeing firbolgs outside the forests of the world. He didn't want to scare anyone. One of the birds on top his head began chirping incessantly. Reaching inside one of the many pouches around his belt, Wendel got out some bird seed and fed it to the little chirper. "There you go little one." Wendel was rather pleased. In his search for the thieving druid Ataulf, Wendel was following his nose. He knew that Ataulf smelled like his Uncle Regus and this was where the scent was taking him, but Wendel was also tired. Not to draw too much attention to himself, Wendel used his abilities to shape change into a cat. As he pranced through the small town, he came across two horses tethered to a post. Surely they wouldn't mind if he took a nap. A little nap, a small nap, and then back the search at hand.

Being a firbolg, Wendel is tall and physically imposing. He stands at 7 ft. tall and is 250 lbs. of muscle, but compared to other firbolgs he's quite skinny.

Personal history
Wendel grew up in a small Firbolg village in the Blue Woods. The Firbolgs are in tune with nature like the elves and druids, and maybe even more so. They are guardians of the forest, and tend to fight alongside the elves in helping defend their wooded homelands. Wendel had a sheltered upbringing and is a very positive person. His village has defended their section of the woods from certain human attacks, so his few interactions with humans have been negative.
Regardless, he's very welcoming to anyone he meets and wishes to get out of his village and explore the world. His heart is kind and simple, and tends to take things in a literal way. He achieved his goal of going out to see the world by joining the druids, and being inducted into their order. When the druid Ataulf stole the Heart of the Oak, the Druidic Council sent Wendel to try and find him. They hope that the world can teach him more than they have.
